12th engineerung competition and christmas party
At this years ahw christmas party, the 12th engineering competition has taken place.
The task in 2016 was: built a new stand-alone building with a big facade in consideration of two phases: First the building phase and second the testing phase of stability and stiffing.
The following tools were available for construction: beer mats and wooden bricks. But it was not all about building the highest stand-alone with a minimal facade size of A3. There were also a testing in particular cases! For this there was a whole new testing method: The constructions needed to proof their stability and stiffing while being under attack of a self-made catapult made of
a rat-trap and projectiles made of the shells of Kinder surprise eggs. 7 teams competed in this task and gave their creativity free rein. Team no. 6 won not only with the highest building but also with the best stability and stiffing.
