Completion of
computing center
Göttingen
At the scientific location Göttingen the joint computing center of the Georg-August- University , the society for scientific data processing Göttingen (GWDG), the Max-Plank Society and the university medical department has been completed.
The office disc is connected to the cubical computing ceter by a flat glassy entrance building. The material and the design vocabulary merge the two buildings into one sculpture.
In the computing center two engine room floors have been realised. A walkable doublefloor allows optimal reinstallation conditions as well as supply and cooling of the IT equipment. The two floors embody an air- as well as a cold - and hot - water - cooled HPC area. Moreover , utilizing completly redundant system technology, various availability classes up to high availability are being realised.
