On Monday 31.08.2020 the foundation stone for the new building of the Clay School in Neukölln, Berlin was laid. The new building complex has a High school and a double sports hall as well as a canteen. With an investment volume of 66 million euros, it is the largest new school building in the district. In addition to District Mayor Martin Hikel, Education City Councillor Karin Korte and Headmaster Thorsten Gruschke-Schäfer, the event was also attended by Federal Minister for Family Affairs Dr. Franziska Giffey, Senator for Education Sandra Scheer and Senator for Urban Development and Housing Sebastian Scheel.
The special feature oft the new building from a static point of view, is the two-story sports hall with the use of vibration absorbers. The school building is planned as a solid construction on the first floor and will be built in timber construction on the upper floor.
