Ground-breaking ceremony Mathilde-Anneke comprehensive school Münster

On June 12th 2019, the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Mathilde-Anneke comprehensive school building in Münster was held with the Lord Mayor Markus Lewe, representatives of the office for Real Estate Management,
the architect Mrs Grote by farwick + grote, the headmistress Mrs. Wennighoff and representatives of pupils and parents.
The project is the first school in the city of Münster to be built by using sustainable timber construction methods. The comprehensive school is to accommodate 1,400 pupils in the future.
In addition to the Forum, Mensa, specialist rooms, administration wing and learning houses, a four-fold sports hall and a day-care centre were also built on an area of approx. 28,000 square meters.
The use of the building material wood as a supporting structure and as a finishing material gives the building a warm and natural atmosphere.
Semi-industrial prefabrication of the components is planned. The facade is designed as a timber construction with glass elements and closed wooden board formwork.
